Summary: This program focuses on the fundamentals of ice skating and team work.
Skaters will participate in weekly practices and eight to ten non-competitive cross ice games.
Practices are structured according to the guidelines set in the USA Hockey Initiation program
guide. This program provides a fun, inexpensive way for children to get excited about playing
the sport of ice hockey.
Duration: This program runs from early December to March.
Time Commitment: Ice Mite practices are held on Sundays. Specific dates and times
will be posted on the website once the ice has been scheduled for the 2008-09 season. Ice Mite
games begin in January which may increase the time commitment to twice a week.
Where: Practices are held at the Mandt Community Center in Stoughton.
Games will involve limited travel to other area rinks.
Age Level: Ice Mites is open to children between the ages of 4-7.Older Skaters, 8 and up,
will need to skate at a level appropriate for their age.
Cost: $50.00 ice fee, $100.00 packet of Raffle Tickets (ten $10.00 tickets that
can be re-sold).
