Stoughton Youth Hockey Association (SYHA) is excited to bring you our brand new “Never Too Late” hockey skills program. This program is designed for boys and girls ages 9 to 13 interested in learning the great game of hockey but have not yet played organized hockey.
To teach skating basics, puck handling, shooting, game rules, and more. We accomplish this through a balance between technical teaching time and less structured game play time. Our goal is to help each participant learn the basic skills of hockey and grow a passion for this great game. This program is exclusively for those that have no previous organized hockey experience so we can foster a fun, safe and low pressure environment.
Initially, we offer three 1 hour preseason camps (equipment available) at Mandt Community Center. For the 2019-20 season, these sessions will be held September 21, 28 and October 5. We conclude our initial “Never Too Late” camp sessions with player evaluations and meet individually to determine the best way forward.
Our Motto is it is absolutely NEVER TOO LATE!
All of us at SYHA love hockey and what it can do for our youth. Our association not only believes hockey is a great sport to build hand-ey coordination, balance, agility and overall athleticism, it is a great environment to build outstanding character!
